At EasyWeave, we value our community. You trust us with your information, and we’re serious about that responsibility. We believe in transparency, and we’re committed to being upfront about our privacy practices, including how we treat personal information we collect or receive. We know you care about your privacy, too, so we provide settings that allow you to control how certain information is used on EasyWeave. This policy explains our privacy practices for EasyWeave.com and services provided by EasyWeave, LLC (“EasyWeave”). Current version published: October 9, 2012.
Information Collected or Received EasyWeave will not sell or disclose your name, email address or other personal information to third parties without your explicit consent, except as specified in this policy. As an EasyWeave member you are required to provide a valid email address at registration and choose a username or alias that may represent your identity on EasyWeave. Depending on which services you choose to use, EasyWeave may require additional information, such as a shop name and payment information (including billing address, telephone number), a telephone number, and/or a physical mailing address. EasyWeave may contact individual shop owners to confidentially request more information about their shops or items listed on the site, to ensure compliance with our rules. You may optionally choose to provide your full name and other personal information (such as birthday, gender, location) to be publicly displayed in connection to your account and activity. Your username, EasyWeave ID or alias is publicly displayed and connected to your EasyWeave activity. Other people may see your date joined, feedback, ratings, profile information, items listed for sale, shop pages, sold item listings, and comments in community spaces. EasyWeave may automatically receive and record some information from your browser when you visit the site, such as your IP address, cookies and data about which pages you visit on the site through the use of log files provided by our third-party tracking-utility partners. This information helps us analyze and understand how the site works for members and visitors, and provide a more personalized experience for members and visitors. Some members or visitors may connect to or register an EasyWeave account using an external third-party application, such as Facebook, or an app developed using the EasyWeave API. EasyWeave may receive some data from those connected third-party applications. Connecting your EasyWeave account to third-party applications or services is optional, and when you connect your account to an external app, you will be given the opportunity to grant permission.
EasyWeave may receive or collect information (for example: email address) about a person who is not yet a registered EasyWeave member (a “non-member”) in connection with certain EasyWeave features, including but not limited to: a non-member subscribing to an EasyWeave newsletter, a member inviting a non-member to visit EasyWeave.com, a non-member engaging in a transaction, or a member sending a gift card code to a non-member. Non-member information is used only for the purpose it was originally submitted to EasyWeave. A non-member can contact EasyWeave Support if they do not want EasyWeave to retain their information.
To help arbitrate disputes and preserve trust and safety, we retain all messages buyers and sellers send through the EasyWeave mail system. EasyWeave uses filtering technology to protect buyers and sellers from possible fraud. Messages identified as attempting to conduct transactions outside of EasyWeave is strictly prohibited and may result in your account being disabled.
How Do We Use Your Data?
For customer service purposes, we may follow up with customers who started the process of checking out using our shopping cart, but didn’t finish for some reason.
We may also use your images and information you've posted about your item in any & all publications used by or for EasyWeave including but not limited to blog, email blasts, newsletters, text messaging campaigns, advertisements etc.
Information collected automatically:
When you visit the Website, whether as an EasyWeave customer or a non-registered user just browsing, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website (“Log Data”). For example, Log Data may include information such as your computer’s IP address, browser type or the webpage you were visiting before you came to our Website, pages of our Website that you visit, the time spent on those pages, information you search for on our Website, access times and dates, and other statistics. We use this information to monitor and analyze use of the Website and the Services and for the Website’s technical administration, to increase our Website’s functionality and user-friendliness, and to better tailor it to our visitors’ needs.
E-mail and other communications:
By signing up you agree to automatically receive email & other communications from EasyWeave. We may contact you, by email or other means; for example, we may communicate with you about your use of the Website or Services. If you do not want to receive email or other mail from us, please indicate your preference by adjusting the settings on your account screen in the website or by changing the email preferences located at the footer of the email. Please note that if you do not want to receive legal notices from us, those legal notices will still govern your use of the Website, and you are responsible for reviewing such legal notices for changes.
Choice & Control We know members of our community value having control over their own information, and therefore EasyWeave gives you the choice of providing, editing or removing certain information, as well as choice over how we contact you. You may change or correct your EasyWeave account information (except your username). You may remove certain optional information you no longer wish to be publicly visible, such as your full name. For various reasons, EasyWeave may contact you about our services or your activity. Some of these messages are required, service-related messages for members. Other messages are not required, and you can control which optional messages you choose to receive by changing your settings in your account. Learn more in the Messages from EasyWeave section of this policy. If you have optionally connected your account to an external, third-party application, such as Facebook, or an app developed using the EasyWeave API, you can remove permission for the app by changing your account settings. If you no longer wish to use EasyWeave’s services or receive service-related messages, then you may request to close your account.
Findability Finding your friends on EasyWeave helps you connect with them in community features. You can follow another member’s public site activity (for example: public Favorites, or public Treasury lists). It is not possible to opt-out of being found via your username.
Messages from EasyWeave On occasion, EasyWeave will contact you. Primarily, messages are delivered by email, and every account is required to keep a valid email address on file to receive messages. In some situations, EasyWeave may contact you by telephone, SMS message or physical mail in order to provide you with information about products and features you my find of interest or to provide you with customer support. You may update your contact preferences in your account settings. Some messages from EasyWeave are service-related and required for members. Examples of service-related messages include, but are not limited to: a welcome/confirmation email when you register your account, notification of an order, or correspondence with EasyWeave’s support team. These messages are not promotional in nature. You may not opt-out of receiving service-related messages from EasyWeave, unless you close your account. As a member, EasyWeave may also send you messages related to certain features on the site or your activity. EasyWeave may also send you news or updates about changes to our site or services. By default, members will receive these messages via email, but you may choose to opt-out of getting certain emails under your account settings. EasyWeave offers optional email newsletters. You must opt-in or subscribe to begin receiving newsletters, and subscription is available to both members and non-members. Members may subscribe or unsubscribe from optional newsletters under your account settings or by following the instructions contained in the newsletter emails. Non-members may subscribe by providing an email address, which will only be used by EasyWeave for these newsletters. Non-members may unsubscribe from newsletters by following the instructions contained in the newsletter emails. If someone in your contact list is not already a member, you may invite them to join EasyWeave. Recipients of invitations may opt out of receiving future invitations by following instructions in the invitation message.
Community To prevent against transactions occurring outside of the EasyWeave.com platform, sharing of contact information such as but not limited to email addresses, phone numbers, website URL’s and other personally identifiable contact information are not allowed to be posted on EasyWeave.com. Using EasyWeave as a platform to facilitate outside transactions is not allowed and strictly prohibited. EasyWeave reserves the right to close user accounts and prevent further usage of EasyWeave in the event of outside transactions occurring or users attempting to circumvent the EasyWeave.com rules & privacy policies. EasyWeave is both a marketplace and a community. Please use common sense and good judgment when posting in these community spaces or sharing your personal information with others on EasyWeave. Be aware that any personal information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by others, or could be used to send you unsolicited messages. EasyWeave generally does not remove content from community spaces, and your posts may remain public after your account is closed. You are responsible for the personal information you choose to post in community spaces on EasyWeave. Another EasyWeave member may follow your public activity on EasyWeave to receive updates, for example: when you create a public Treasury list or add an item to your public Favorites. After a member has begun following your activity, you have the option to block that member if you do not wish to share your updates with that specific person.
Cookies & Tracking Technologies EasyWeave may use a variety of technologies to help us better understand how people use our site and services. EasyWeave may partner with third-party services who may use various tracking technologies, such as browser cookies or Flash cookies, to provide certain services or features. These technologies allow a partner to recognize your computer each time you visit EasyWeave, but do not allow access to personally identifiable information from EasyWeave. EasyWeave does not have access or control over these third-party technologies, and they are not covered by our privacy statement.
Security The security of your personal information is important to us. Your EasyWeave account information is protected by a password. It is important that you protect against unauthorized access of your account and information by choosing your password carefully, and keeping your password and computer secure by signing out after using our services. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Data Retention EasyWeave will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you no longer want EasyWeave to use your information to provide you services, you may request to close your account. EasyWeave will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
